A Notice to Clients

Although regular activities at the St. Lawrence Street studio have ceased as of June 1st, 2012, The Wylde Project will still be offering private coaching and occasional classes as demand warrants. The web site and e-mail address remain unchanged and all inquiries will be promptly answered.

Peter Wylde is very happy to be returning to George Brown Theatre School in the autumn of 2012.

The very heart of The Wylde Project is The Zone of Silence. This single, simple improvisational exercise, performed through variations of increasing complexity without sound or voice, establishes the bedrock foundation of all acting. It is the starting point for our beginner acting classes. These exercises provided the foundation at the National Theatre School of Canada, the George Brown Theatre School and the Ryerson Theatre School, throughout their greatest years.

This is a process of discovery.

It never fails.

This is an indispensible acting class for beginners and an invaluable refresher and corrective for experienced actors.

3-hour classes, three days per week, over seven weeks,

$450 (Equity & ACTRA members $360) No HST is applicable at this time.

Note: registration is limited to twelve persons. Register now with a 20% deposit, non-refundable.

The Zone of Silence is everything!”

Laura Burns, Ryerson Theatre School, 2006

“I was thinking of the Zone of Silence yesterday, reading over my journal, as I have been often.    The Zone has opened the door for what I can do as an actor - it has released what has always been there and given me a direction to move into - moving into the fear and tension...it has awakened me in the best way...and it feels magnificent!!! “

Lisa-Marie Hamalainen, Wylde Project, 2010

"I thoroughly enjoyed your masterful teaching throughout the Zone of Silence, and cannot wait to work with you soon again!"

William Petker, Wylde Project, 2010

"...this class is SO fantastic. I'm truly enjoying it and can't wait for more! Endless discovery...

...Class today was RIVETING! can't wait for friday."

Alex Samaras, Wylde Project, 2011

ZONE TO SCRIPT

A new course created at the request of graduates of the Zone of Silence! Beginning where it left off we seek ways to apply the technique directly to scripts from the modern repertoire by
studying selected scenes both forwards and backwards, searching the silences from which the word erupts. The Zone of Silence is thus a prerequisite for this seven-week course. Fee is $450.00 (ACTRA and EQUITY $360.00) in advance by cash or cheque. No HST at this time. Reserve your spot now by contacting studio@wyldeproject.com.

ACTING TWO

At the request of members of our Zone of Silence classes, we now offeer a follow-up course where aspects of the work might be taken further and applied in a variety of challenging situations.

ACTING TWO will accordingly begin with Sanford Meisner’s incomparable word-repetition exercise, into which the Zone of Silence so seamlessly dovetails, and continue with more silent improvisation and intention work adapted by Peter Wylde from some Robert Lewis material over many years. Like the Zone of Silence, this will be delivered in three three-hour classes per week over six weeks. Watch for details of the next session of this course.

$450.00 CDN (C.A.E.A. and A.C.T.R.A. $360.00) No HST applies at this time.

Please view our Schedules Page and contact us to register for The Zone of Silence and Acting Two acting class.
